Casey Owen Neistat was born on the 25th of March 1981 in Gales Ferry, a village in Connecticut. He is one of four children born to Jewish parents, Amy and Barry Neistat. Others are Van Neistat, Dean Neistat and Jordan Neistat. As a child, Casey Neistat had an independent, artistic spirit which the four walls of a school could not contain. He dropped out of high school at the age of 17 and started forging his own way in life. He worked various odd jobs in Connecticut for three years before moving to New York. The series (which was a collaborative project with brother, Van) focused on the artwork of American contemporary artist, Tom Sachs.
