Duane Brown is a skilful Seattle Seahawks football player with over a decade in the professional league; he has solidified his position as one of the finest offensive tackle players that the National Football League (NFL) has seen. August 30, 1985, saw the birth of Duane Anthony Brown in Richmond, Virginia, the United States, to Myra and Dennis Brown. He, alongside his brother, grew up in the neighbourhood he was born. As a talented young chap who had his eyes fixed on sports, he passed through Hermitage High school where he excelled in football, basketball and field track.

His average of 15 points and 12 rebounds per game in basketball and top-throws of 56.8 ft in the shot put as well as 146.6 ft in discus throw of field track were selling points in his journey to college. Prior to his college stint, he came 4th in the Group AAA outdoor shot put competition.

Finishing high school with great stats; Brown found his way into Virginia Tech College in Blacksburg, playing for Frank Beamer’s Hokies. In his senior season in 2007, after changing his position to left offensive tackle, Richmond Club again honoured him as the Offensive Lineman/End of the year, he also bagged the second-team All-Coast Conference honours.

Brown entered the 2008 NFL Draft and was selected by the Houston Texans in the first round as the 26th overall pick. His selection made him the second Virginia Tech offensive lineman to be drafted in the first round after Eugene Chung in 1992.

He kicked off his professional season in great form, starting all 16 games as a rookie, becoming the first Texans rookie lineman to have attained such height since Chester Pitts in 2002.

In the 2010 season, he started twelve games while allowing 6.5 sacks and zero holding penalties. In the following season of 2011, he made the list of USA Today All-Joe Team, more so, Associated Press named him the second-team All-Pro.

Following his impressive first contract that was to end at the conclusion of the 2012 season; on August 16, 2012, Brown inked a six-year contract extension for the Texans in the tune of $53.4 million that had $22.08 million guaranteed.

He was listed in the 2012 All-Pro Team as a first-team selection which earned him votes to play in the 2013 Pro Bowl at the end of the 2012 season. Towards the end of his contract with the team in 2017; the stylish linesman missed the first six games due to contract issues, which led to his exit in 2017.  After 9 remarkable seasons with the Texans, Brown proved himself as one of the best offensive linemen the team has ever produced.

On October 30, 2017, Brown moved to Seattle Seahawks in a swap deal that saw some Seahawks players move to another team. On July 2018, Brown penned a $36.5 million contract extension with the Seahawks that would keep him on the team till 2021 season.

Brown is married to Devon Anjelica, known as Devi. A popular radio presenter in the United States, she was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended Cal State Northridge College where she majored in Broadcast Journalism.

Brown loved her personality and began to follow her programs on air and Twitter, on one of her birthdays which she announced on her show that she would host at Houston nightclub, Brown attended after making a table reservation for himself.

Brown would later introduce himself, which was followed by the exchange of numbers on Twitter and they became good friends thereafter. Four months down the line, Brown gave her a surprise engagement ring; they got married in July of 2012. The union has brought forth 3 children, a daughter and two sons.
