David Dobrik is an American actor, social media personality, and YouTuber. He was born on July 23, 1996, in Kosice, Slovakia, and was raised in Chicago, Illinois.
The vlogging star attended Vernon Hills Excessive College in Chicago and started out on Vine at the age of 16, posting his first video on the app in April 2013. He accumulated over 1 million followers on the platform and gained recognition there before he moved to YouTube on December 19, 2014, creating the channel, “ David Dobrik”. On Aug 31, 2016, he created another channel known as “ David Dobrik Too”.
He posted his first Youtube video titled “Drove Cross Country for In-N-Out” in February 2015 and since then, his channels have continued to grow and currently boasts of more than 14 million subscribers. As of December 14, 2018, David’s first channel has had 3,535,583,055 views and 10,124,696 subscribers.

The YouTuber appeared on ADHD , a new podcast hosted by actor/musician Travis Mills and revealed that he planned to quit vlogging after releasing his 420th video earlier in 2018. Explaining the reason for his initial decision, David said his greatest fear was slipping into irrelevance after reaching the peak of his career. As a result, he wanted to leave vlogging to pursue a Netflix series. Unfortunately, the streaming giant rejected the project titled David’s Frat House .
Despite the interesting storyline, Dobrik claimed that executives of Netflix did not believe that an ordinary YouTube star had what it takes to helm a viable series. According to him, it was difficult to convince the executives who knew nothing about YouTube.

The YouTube star made headlines with an emotional video called “We Broke Up,” detailing the end of his relationship with fellow YouTuber Liza Koshy. The video racked up more than 47 million views.
David Dobrik and Liza Koshy started dating in 2015 and built a combined audience of more than 20 million Youtube followers. According to the ex-couple, they had to break up, not because any of them did something wrong to the other but because the pressure of their YouTube careers had made then distant from each other. In the video which lasted for six minutes, David revealed that their relationship became unhealthy for both of them and they had to call it quits for now. He added that he had been feeling the distance but did not have the boldness to call off the relationship so finally, Liza pulled the trigger.
Announcing their separation in the video, they revealed that they had parted ways six months ago but according to Liza, they did not want to tell anybody because they were just so angry at the fact they distanced in the first place.
The duo, however, made it clear that they are still best friends and their break-up is amicable.
