American actress Betty Gilpin is one of the Hollywood actresses exposed to acting at a young age – her parents were already rooted in the industry even before her birth. She was born on July 21, 1986, in New York City where she grew up alongside two siblings, Sam and Harry.

Betty attended Fordham University and graduated in 2008. She has acted off-Broadway in theatre productions like I’m Gonna Pray for You So Hard , We Live Here, and Heartless. Betty debuted on Television in a 2006 episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent and has since featured in other series, including Law & Order: SVU , Medium, Fringe, Elementary, and Masters of Sex. One of her best-known roles is as Doctor Carrie Roman in the medical comedy-drama series, Nurse Jackie, in which she appeared in 34 episodes.

The beautiful lady has also appeared in two episodes of American Gods , a fantasy TV drama series based on the acclaimed novel of the same name written by Neil Gaiman. She acted as Audrey, best friend of Laura Moon (Emily Browning’s character).

Gilpin is currently one of the main casts in the Netflix comedy web television series, GLOW which started airing on June 23, 2017. In the series which was inspired by the 1980s female professional wrestling league of the same name, Betty plays the role of Debbie Eagan. She has done a great job in bringing the character to life, lighting up the show in a special way.

Her role in GLOW seems to be the beginning of her speedy rise in Hollywood. Just recently, she was cast as Whitney in the film Isn’t It Romantic , which will be released on February 14, 2019. She also starred in Jaime Greenberg’s indie movie, Future ’38 .

Having her parents to look up to in the entertainment industry has no doubt impacted on the drive and professionalism that have helped Betty to push through the ranks of stage and film entertainment. She admits that it was her visits to the theater with her parents when she was a little girl that inspired her to become an actress. Thankfully, she has been able to transform that dream into a beautiful reality.

She decided to give it a try so she put down her name on the sign-in sheet and to her pleasant surprise, she was cast for the role. Her excitement went beyond landing the role as she also got an agent and met the man who eventually became her husband through that job.

After some months of dating, they decided to tie the knot and eventually got married on August 6, 2016, with family members, friends, and colleagues in attendance.
